Glenfarg Folk Club

‘Folkie’ Songwriting Award 2026

Our Gordon is an award winning song writer!

We had a cracking night at Glenfarg Folk Club on Monday 23rd February, where we performed a new song , ‘Home For Me’, in their ‘Folkie’ Awards night and won the Best Song grand prize!

We are honoured to have received this award from such a historic and prestigious folk club, which see the best of the best come and perform, and also considering the strength of all the other entrants on the night.

We recently recorded a studio version of ‘Home For Me’ at Wee Studio on Lewis, and will be releasing it as a single in due course, so keep following us online to find out when.

Get yersel’ a bit o’ Whyte Noise…

  • Event & Festival Performances

Whyte Noise will provide a huge injection of Scottish energy into your event or festival. We can tailor our set to suit your audience, and draw on both traditional and contemporary Scottish songs (with a few from further afield) and also from our critically acclaimed original material, including song s such as ‘Long For Glencoe’. ‘I’m Wi’ You’ and ‘The Whisky Song’. Festival appearances in 2025 included the Sound of Iona Festival and Strathaven Balloon Festival and we supported acts such as Jarad Rowan and Killer Instinct.

  • Ceilidhs

Whyte Noise is your ideal ceilidh band, hosting fun and memorable ceilidhs, featuring loads of enjoyable, traditional Scottish dances, with clear and helpful instructions when required. We want everyone to be able to get onto the dance floor and try the dances, whether they are ceilidh veterans or novices . For conferences and festivals, we can also provide a separate Introduction to Ceilidh Dancing Workshop, either as a standalone event or in the afternoon before the actual evening ceilidh.

  • 'Taste of Scotland' Events

Perfect for any gathering - especially with international visitors - we can tailor an event to include a mixture of songs and dancing, highly interactive and lots of fun, to provide a truly memorable Scottish experience. We can even bring the bagpipes out if the demand is there!

This format would be ideal for tour companies, hotels, international conventions, whisky tastings and pretty much any event where you want a brilliant night with a Scottish theme.
